I have an SE Charger and i'm thinking about putting a dual exhaust on mostly for the look and sound. Does this help mileage at all? A friend of mine says it can. I figured this with a CAI might give me a lil extra push since its only an SE. What do you guys think?:4-dontknow:
I just bought a spoiler too. Anybody have any idea of how difficult it is to install? Its already prepainted, OEM RT style.
Oh, and has anybody seen this before? Its Thermochromic Paint (Changes with the Temp). This would be crazy on a car here.

If at all it will decrease ur MPG b/c you will be leaning on the gas more to hear it,But not sure if under Normal Driving conditions if it increases MPG.

You will see an improvement in both MPG and performance.
It wont be much in either regard but every little bit helps.
Be careful about pipe size tho since too big of a pipe will actually decrease bottom end torque.
The spoiler install is easy and should only take about 4 hours - thats 3.5 hours to get up the nerve to drill into the deck and about .5 hours to measure, drill and mount.

I get 320 miles on a full tank(16 gallons), I have a SE Magnum w/dual exhaust. I got a Magnaflow & yes it hummmmms nicely!!! But I do roll 24's though. Imma gonna get the air intake next to better improve gas mileage.

320, wow
I have the 3.5 and the same 16 gallon tank.
I consider myself LUCKY to get 250 per tank.
Funny thing is that I chose the SXT so I would get better mileage than the R/T - whoops

The shop that I went to is Kinney Muffler(817-282-3700) here in Euless, U dont have to order the kit, they customize all ur piping for u. They carry Flow master & Magnaflow exhaust systems. Its a pretty nice muffler shop! My system cost me $900 for the dual w/a 4" tip & labor.

Think I'll stick with my 3.5 and be happy! That's as bad as the Eddie Bauer Expo I traded to get my Charger. I was spending $600 mo on gas for that thing just to go back and forth to work.

I get about 360 miles out of my RT on a full tank as long as I keep it around 65.

65 huh........
I have seen that number on the speedo.
Usually as the needle is blurring past it.
I drive hard and fast. Usually about 10mph over the speed limit in town and the sky is the limit on the highway.
That isnt to say I drive dangerous or reckless. I dont weave through traffic (usually) or anything like that, I just let her run when the roads allow.
Might - just might - have something to do with the gas mileage I get...........

I'm not really an engine/exhaust guy, so bare with me. I wouldn't need to purchase headers for the dual exhaust install would i?

No you will not need to get headers.
The "Y" pipe is downstream from the couplers.
The exhaust is laid out like this:
Exhaust manifolds bolt to the heads.....Cats and a short length of pipe are bolted to the manifolds.....slide coupler, Y pipe, muffler, etc are attached to the "cat" pipe.
When you add dual exhaust, all you have to do is remove the old exhaust from where the slide couplers fit onto the down pipe.
You will need some hangers and heat shield, but the muffler shop may have that.
