I went to NSD's Test 'n Tune today. A little cool and windy, but some pretty good DA.
I got 4 runs in before the exhaust separated at the driver's side mid-pipe (again), and when fixing it I found that one of the clamps was striping the threads. So I decided to call it a day while the exhaust was still reasonably well connected.
Runs:
7.92 @ 91.80
7.82 @ 93.15
7.86 @ 92.48
7.81 @ 92.48
60' were 1.93 - 1.96. I just didn't have it in me to drop the hammer at 4500 rpm and go for a 1.7x or 1.8x 60'.
After the 1st run I checked the DS and found it had rubbed some (on that run? I don't know), so I added another washer to push the front of the differential down a little more. The other runs I couldn't tell the DS had rubbed any more.
I had planned only to launch hard in 1st and ease on down the rest of the track... but I was lined up with a supercharged Camaro (around a 2011). It was a very cClose race. The margin of victory (for him) was 0.0259 (he ran 7.83 @ 89.71). Nice guy when I talked to him later.
I ran him later (the last run when my exhaust slipped). We both cut some good lights (mine was 0.0413 to his 0.0117), he ran 7.76 @ 89.95 (1.703 60') to my 7.81 @ 92.48 (1.939 60').
There were a number of Mustangs (Fox bodies and newer 5.0's and a GT500). One of the Mustang guys wanted to race. I had seen his run 7.80x earlier, so I new it was going to a challenge. The race results:
My side:
R/T: 0.0439
60': 1.9668
330': 5.2220
1/8: 7.86 @ 92.48
His:
R/T: 0.1711
60': 1.8835
330': 5.1177
1/8: 7.7986 @ 91.97
MOV: 0.0587 in my favor.
