I'm not really sure. I will have to stop by and ask them those questions. I know we ordered the beefier blower than the one they list in their tuner kit since my heads and intake are ported.
Is it the belt that matters or the pulley size?
I will get answers for you.

Okay, thats what I thought. I know the pulley they are using is supposed to be 9lbs boost on a stock engine, but my engine has some serious porting and long -tube headers so they are going with more aggressive pulley. We are expecting about 6lbs boost when all is said and done.

well, since you have a beefed-up engine, wouldn't you want MORE boost? I would think that 6psi would be for a stock engine and 9psi would be for a built-up motor.
stronger engine + more boost = more fun! :D

Yes sir I agree. I didn't really order any specific boost. What I ordered was 550HP at the rear wheels! So that is the target. Much beyond that and I think more mods would be required to handle the additional power above 550. After all, besides the porting, engine is stock and I figure over some amount of HP you have to build up the bottom end and heads, then half shafts probably need to replaced. At least thats my thought. You guys can share your thoughts.

I think you can run 550 without issues, read about Jmatts adventures (300cforumz.com) with NOX, it was right about at 550 I think he starting having tranny and half shaft issues if i remember correctly

I got $20 that says you won't make even 500 at the wheel with any heat in the motor...
I know it will make your wee-wee look bigger to you if you can say you have X amount of HP in a street car but above about 480 RWHP the car becomes unmanageable in less than perfect conditions.... but what do I know, I only have 73,000 miles on my car and
54,000 something on my 426 Stroker.
BTW any of you know how much HP my car makes...nope, cause I don't care. (January Dyno Day breaking the dyno excluded)

It's my Birthday and I will be an Ass if I....well really guys am I being an Ass or a realists.
Let's Review.
1. You buy a kit to put on a stock bottom end motor and your requirement is 550 RWHP.
2. A stock SRT-8 will make anywhere (from my experiences) 350-380 RWHP.
karh4ck3r Mod List:
Black 2006 Charger SRT-8. Intake and heads ported. Kooks long tube headers and Zoomers cat back exhaust. K&N Cold air intake. TIEN Suspension with EDFC. And certain electronic countermeasures we won't talk about.
So we have a stock SRT-8 with P&P Heads/intake, headers, and a catback...the rest is irrelevant.
Let's be nice and say his SRT with his mods put him on a "realistic" dyno at 410-430 RWHP....so he wants a kit to bolt on and make 550... -430= 120+- from a bolt on kit and tuning..BTW I don't see a Diablo in his Mod list and if he is running a Unichip or SMT-6 to tune the car I change my timetable to him blowing a fist size hole in the block to 3-4 weeks.
See this is what is gonna happen...dude buys a S/C (bigger than recommended since he thinks having P&P Heads and Long Tubes makes his motor a lot stronger...it just makes it breathe better) and you will hear about him getting it installed AND LOVING IT!!!!!
Then comes the dyno...ug...493 RWHP and 507 Torque....well, maybe if we turn the boost up Sir we can get you the 550 RWHP you wanted.
So you go turn the boost up and tune it for WOT...hopefully....but it isn't WOT that blows the motor. You see, WOT is where the motor runs off a different VE table for fueling, WOT the car is more prone to dump lots of fuel and cool the pistons better.
What the concern on a stock block should be is around town where you are in the part throttle applications. When the IAT sensor (Intake Air Temperature for you kiddies having this read to you as a bedtime story) reads at a certain point above +-110* it start pulling timing because of concern for detonation. Detonation in most tuned cars happens at it worst point at 45-55% load on a motor and at that partial throttle placement your car is not adding as much fuel as WOT...less fuel equals higher temps in the cylinders... a higher EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp) is an indication of running too lean and a high EGT will indicate a good possibility of melting a piston...yes you can melt one.
So if you can swallow your pride and be happy with a 4-6 PSI boosted motor you will be HAPPY ALL DAY LONG on your stock block..but if you let your foolish pride get the best of you...I predict BOOM (and of course you won't let us know it blew...you will probably just disappear for a few weeks and..."Hey guys, I decided to get a stroker motor cause that's cooler!!!")
Now with a larger C.I.D. motor like a 392 or 426 I can see your wishes of 550 RWHP being answered and yes I know there is some dyno queen down in Florida that made 600+..but I bet you never hear of that car being a daily driver or tracked any.
sorry for the long post, yes it is my Birthday but because of work I am hours from home sitting in my hotel room watching TV and typing on a laptop.... I am not trying to be an ass at all, I have played this game before is all.

--------------------------------------------------------
Since my Diablo is a handheld device and is not actually installed I do not list it in my mods. I can add it to the list if it will make you happy. It will be tuned with guidance from both Procharger and Diablo.
Procharger claims an add of about 150HP at around 6psi. So this doesn't sound reasonable to you? Please enlighten me.
-----------------------------------------------------------
>See this is what is gonna happen...dude buys a S/C (bigger than recommended since he thinks having P&P Heads and Long Tubes makes his motor a lot stronger...it just makes it breathe better) and you will hear about him getting it installed AND LOVING IT!!!!!

I ordered what was recommended by Procharger. Perhaps you know more than they do. I know I don't. So yes, I'm loving it.

I see lots of words here. However my area of expertise is Information Systems and networks. But you sound really smart though. Your wee-wee must be very large, or at least your balls.

-------------------------------------------------------
If you had actually read my other posts, you would know that I already have some thoughts that this thing might blow up in my face and have had thoughts about a stroker. I am fine with an excuse to build up a 426 stroker.
So should I spit or swallow? I yield to your experience.

Yeah I got a small wee-wee and I am cool with it, I make up for it with my winning charm.
Pro charger knows their stuff, no doubt....but it is your driving in-town I worry about.
I run a Dash Hawk, a Air-Fuel/EGT gauge that data logs, and installed a Car PC so I could monitor my car or data log when I needed to, I have studied this stuff a little as with my job I have a lot of downtime like right now where I spend the evenings in a hotel room with nothing to do but watch ESPN.
Look I wish the best for you and I hope you do it right and get it tuned on a load bearing dyno and do the partial throttle tuning as the most important part...
Call me if you want, I might be an ass but I have been in these Gen III Hemi as much or more than most. I freely admit I am an amateur mechanic, no doubt, but I have over 1400 hours logged in my SRT-8 Magnum and I watch my gauges as much if not more sometimes than the road.

It really depends on when TSS gets to the tuning! Looks like he won't be able to start on the tuning until Friday at the earliest! :(
Even if I could make it to the track I wouldn't be ready to run on it. I need to wait until after the "break in period", which is the amount of time it takes me to get used to the new setup and confident enough to run it down a track.
My right foot is twitching.

The guys at Keith Craft feel the boost is too high and there is too much timing being pulled out. The plan is to switch to a different pulley to get the boost down to around 6 PSI and try again at the tune.
Sorry, but this is going to go on until we have it all ironed out.

550 rwhp or crank? Mike was pretty impressd with my 480 rwhp.
I would like to see 550HP, but I'm not sure that is realistic since it is a daily driver. The saga continues. I'm not sure where it will end up.
