I decided to go ahead and build up the courage to paint my brake calipers this weekend while everyone was in Houston. Now that I've finished painting, I feel soooo stupid being that I was going to actually pay JR's Custom Auto $250 to paint them for me. It cost me every bit of $20 to do it myself. TheSurgeon convinced me I could do it myself when I was at his house Thursday and he even gave me the brushes he used to paint his. Thanks Jesse, I owe you big time for convincing me to go ahead and do it myself. I think it turned out ok. After 7 hours, 4 coats of paint, a lot patience, and sweat.... here are the results of my efforts. I hope you guys enjoy.

Damn, I did put a lot of tape now that I look at it. That was the most time consuming part. That $230 saved is going towards another mod as soon as I decide what to do next on my list. Thanks again man.

Try the hot pink, it would go great with the new MOZ wheels. It would definitely set you apart from everyone else. J/K....

Now that Pedro has the new more open rims, painting the calipers would be much easier.

No need to even remove the wheels - just spray paint right through 'em.

Looks good. Great job on the paint and even if you over taped - better that, then to find out you missed a tape spot and comes out looking like poo.

I've been thinking about that too. I'm cautious because I don't know if it would affect the ride comfort. I wouldn't want to sacrifice comfort for look. I will lower it if I can keep my comfor, how much is it to lower anyways?

What kind of paint and decals? I was thinking about doing decals when I painted mine but I thought they may peel off due to heat. They look great and this mod is a must now.

I used dupli color caliper paint kit from autozone $18 and some change from autozone, and i ordered the decals from xenon mods.com. you can custom order the decals to be whatever you want. i just stayed basic and order mopar so it would match the mopar that's engraved on my exhaust pipe tips. I'm ordering toyota decals for my wife's car so i can paint her calipers. i think Eric's decals says sublime and gonzo has his name on his decals. It's a great way to add a little something special to your ride and you can make it as personal or simple as you want.
